Edinburgh-based business, Desk Union, is calling for entries into its 2014 office pets calendar to raise money for the Scottish SPCA.
Desk Union, an online marketplace which match-makes growth businesses and the freelance community with companies that have redundant workspace, has announced that entries are now open for individuals and businesses to submit photos of their beloved office pets through social media. Entries can be made using #petsatdesks until 5pm on Friday 15 November.
Victoria Arnold, founder of Desk Union, comments, “With our very own full time ‘Chief Woof Officer’ Alfie, we understand the amount of pleasure that comes from having a pet in the office. Walking the dog is the perfect excuse for a screen break, stroking a cat has been proved time and again to reduce stress and I’m sure looking at fish swimming in a tank will have some kind of therapeutic benefit!
“We are delighted to support the amazing work of the Scottish SPCA through the creation of our 2014 calendar. We can’t wait for entries to come in and feel sure that picking the final 12 will be easier said than done!”
Mike Flynn, Scottish SPCA Chief Superintendent, said, “We are delighted that Desk Union has chosen to support the Scottish SPCA.
“As a charity that receives no government or lottery funding, we rely entirely on donations and the generosity of the public.
“The funds raised will go a long way towards helping us care for the thousands of abused, abandoned an injured animals we rescue every year.”
The calendar will be priced at £5.99 with all profits going to the Scottish SPCA. Calendars will be available for purchase once the final 12 pets have been announced on Monday 18 November. This would make a perfect Christmas present for animal lovers!
