ABC News Reports on Growing Popularity of Virtual Offices

The Labor Department reports that an estimated 13 to 19 million Americans do most of their work at home.

ABC News in San Francisco yesterday featured an article on the growing popularity of virtual offices. In his report, Eric Thomas features Dan Guillory, CEO of a consulting firm. Previously Guillory had a traditional office set-up in San Francisco but has since shifted his company to a more flexible and more cost effective office arrangement - the virtual office setup.

"Now, a laptop, Internet connection and cell phone allow him to manage staff in the Bay Area and Utah as well as independent contractors all over the country, for a fraction of the cost of a brick and mortar office," Thomas writes. 

The article cites the Labor Department's reported estimate of 13 to 19 million Americans who do most of their work at home. For those companies and entrepreneurs who want to convey an image of being established or being a large organization, virtual offices and the support that come with them - from phone answering and call forwarding to receiving packages, orders and mails - are the best option.
