Second Generation OBC Operator Opens First-Rate Second Business Center
Boardroom Executive Suites, based in Denver, CO, announced earlier this month the opening of a second executive suites location, also in Denver. A grand opening for the second business center is scheduled for April 1 of this year.
A family business, Boardroom Executive Suites is owned and operated by Nathan Jansch. The company was founded in 1990 by his parents, who were previously in the insurance sales industry. They came across the idea of the office business center, got introduced to ALLIANCE Business Centers NETWORK Chairman Frank Cottle, became involved with OBCAI, and quickly began their successful operation, The Boardroom at Cherry Creek. The company has seen the growth of their original business center at 3773 Cherry Creek North Drive from 8,000 square feet to its current 14,000 square feet, featuring 50 offices and five conference rooms.
While he had always been involved with the OBC industry because of his parents, Nathan officially joined the industry in 2002. His extensive experience working at Marriot Hotels and gaining customer service skills primed him to successfully take over his parents’ business.
It is Nathan’s and his team’s true commitment to providing the very best customer service, services and amenities that has really set his business center apart from the competition. “We want to help small businesses achieve their goals,” Nathan said. “Our primary focus is differentiating ourselves from the competition by being as flexible as possible and striving to provide the highest level of customer service.”
The Denver market has proven to be relatively strong compared to the national and worldwide markets. While the recession was felt a bit in Denver, Nathan says, the city has been weathering the storm well. The Boardroom at Cherry Creek has continued to fare well as there is not a lot competition. “Other local operators have come and gone,” Nathan said. “But we offer a higher quality level and good value compared other suites nearby. “
A Regus center opened in October 2008, just one mile away from Nathan’s center. While a few of his clients were lost to the OBC giant then, Nathan says, “The level of service we offer and the center’s local ownership and management have allowed us to keep thriving.” The Cherry Creek center is currently 100% occupied. Forty percent of the client base is made up attorneys. Other clients include financial advisors, CPAs, real estate agents, and other professionals representing diverse industries. “[Our customer base] doesn’t make this a high-tech suite,” Nathan says. “Ours are more traditional professional clients, and we expect a lot of the same for the new suite.”
Cherry Creek is a higher-end area of town, offering Denver’s most upscale shopping mall, galleries, boutiques, and high-end homes. The new Boardroom Executive Suites location is in a very similar submarket, very close to the original business center but outside of Cherry Creek. Located on Denver’s busiest street, Colorado Boulevard, and at interstate highway 25, the new center is within a Class B building and is in the process of being built out. This Boardroom location will feature an upscale, professional atmosphere and all brand new finishes.
What is unique about the new suite is that it will offer four mini-suites. Each of these mini-suites will measure approximately 500-600 square feet and have its own entrance, a small reception and meeting area, an interior area, and extra offices. This kind of arrangement will better serve clients with a 5-8 person setup.
An enthusiastic ABCN Member and avid attendee of ABCN meetings, Nathan is using an idea at his new center that he got after participating in the 17th Annual Strategic Summit in New York last year: one of the conference rooms at the Colorado Boulevard center is being designed with the intent to cater to receptions or after-hours meetings, so clients can conduct group-type meetings, networking functions and more. The room will feature its own entrance and amenities, including a wet bar. “You can get some wonderful ideas by attending the ABCN meetings,” Nathan said. “And they’re excellent for networking.”
