Improve your follow-up process to make sure that each request is called within five minutes.

"Yeah, right," you might think sarcastically...

But it really is. All you need to do is to improve your follow-up process to make sure that each request is called within five minutes of the time you receive it during work hours. This is what we call WOW Service and it really works. According to Leads360, studies show that calling customers within five minutes of the time they complete an online application increases the contact rate by 500% compared to call at the 10 minute mark. Up to 76% of high quality requests contacted within three minutes are immediately qualified, but only 10% of those reached within six hours are qualified. Speed directly translates into money.

You say, "How can I do that? I am not always in the office when the requests come in or I am in a meeting and unavailable." Well, it is up to you to find a way if you want to close more Internet based referrals. Not just from us, but through any Internet source.

One way you could do it is if you have less experienced sales people in your office, let them make the initial contact. Another way would be to train an administrative or virtual assistant to make the call when you are not there and let the prospect know when you will be calling them. A final suggestion, use a Blackberry or other mobile device to notify you that a request is waiting and allow you to access the information remotely.

Closing more Internet deals is easy, but it will take a little effort!
